It’s only today, three days after the federal government revealed that the owners of Girls Do Porn have been arrested and charged with counts of federal sex trafficking — and one of whom is currently a fugitive at large — that Pornhub has finally made its official Girls Do Porn partner page disappear, as Motherboard is reporting today. But not the videos strewn across its site, unless they were directly uploaded to that Girls Do Porn page. Michael Pratt, the owner of GirlsDoPorn, appeared in a federal court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges filed in the Southern District of California on Oct. 10, 2019, according to a Justice Department news release.

If the women were unsure about participating, they would be connected with so-called « reference models » to reassure them. A 2022 lawsuit says Pornhub profited from the videos of the 12-year-old Alabama boy who was drugged and repeatedly raped — and for five months ignored demands by police that the videos be taken down. In a nod to the scope of this litigation tsunami, a federal judge in California used the phrase « tens of thousands of children » in a November order granting class certification to one of at least two class-action trafficking suits against Pornhub and MindGeek, which rebranded last year as Aylo. It’s these kinds of videos — uploaded without any verification of the age or consent of those depicted — that now drive Mickelwait’s fight to knock Pornhub out of business.

Research shows that instead of simply creating rules without your child’s input, having open discussions with them on how to safely navigate the internet may be protective against cyberbullying.
